A bad surprise

So, that was with the physio's all great and comfortable, but that I expected something else, I would have to actually think.
My father picked me up from school then, and we went to the orthopedist, we gave away at the loose for a consultation 50, if you were not privately insured.
We told my story once again, she looked at my spine and digitally in real - and finally said that I ABSOLUTELY would need a corset.
And that's what we want to avoid. She said that physiotherapy alone brings nothing, and if one is not acting at once, it would not go well (which means that I have pain later).
So she called the hospital, where corsets are made, and booked an appointment for the next day. Incidentally, my father was in the hospital after our appointment at the pain center for two hours trying to get through there, and as far as it was, some said there that until the 13th July date to be free again. Just because the orthopedic surgeon was called there, we got a quick appointment.

How it all began...

I was visiting my grandparents who lived down the road.
They've got a small bath tub in which I love to sit in and relax.
After having taken a bath my grandma creamed my back as it is a bit hard to reach for myself.
Well and that is how she noticed my spine not being straight. After about a week I went  to a "medical treatment centre for illnesses in the locomotor system and special palliative care with my Dad in the earliest morning hours.

Fabienne MeißnerI was not exactly in a great mood since we had returned  from a family celebration that took place in Bavaria very late on the night before and I did not know what exactly I was to expect.
A young but strict Russian lady wanted to take a look at my back and I, back then, just stood there and expected for her to do something. After a long carry-on foofaraw I finally understood that she wanted me to take off my clothes up to the bra.
Finally the Russian Lady meant that I "probably" have scoliosis, but I should get x-rayed.
During the x-rays there was a more warm and kind woman, not as young anymore, who informed me that I had to remove my clothes to  only my underpants and lean onto a cold "wall". The woman asked me if I was pregnant, which was not the case since I did not even have my period.

The x-rays ( that you can take a look at on my blog "scoliosis and I") eventually revealed that I indeed have scoliosis.

Well, and that was only the beginning of my now completely upside down turned life.

Physio...Psycho...???

My exercise ball

The next step was the physical therapy, also called the physio-therapy. Everything was so new, so I mixed it constantly with "Psycho". Well, now I'm on it's. : D
Exactly opposite to "blah blah blah-pain therapy center" so I started with gymnastics. I was after a short waiting time together with my father in a room with a couch, made a couple of posters about the human apparatus, a small shelf and a (likely genuine) mottled brown-and-white cowhide on the floor. A young man looked at my back (now I finally knew what I had to do) and he did a few exercises with me, then I was discharged.
It went twice a week, after the therapy, I always had a note signed with date (which struck me as very professional), so you could see that I had been present. Eventually I got a woman as a therapist, where I always got a (more or less painful) massage or sometimes on special units trained (something different than the pezzi ball)  because my leg muscles were too weak.
I did the exercises taught to me every day for ten minutes at home and my father got me a pezzi
ball, then and still smells of vanilla ice cream after.
This was another section of my new life with scoliosis.
