Oh, how life would be nice ...

Sometimes I really wish that I could never know about scoliosis and all that stuff. No corset, no physical therapy, nothing. That my spine would be just like the other girls my age.
Have you ever imagined how it would be if a person stands or sits in front of you, wearing something backless, and you're jealous - just on his spine. Surely not, right? As crazy as that sounds now, but I know how it is. It is likely, as when a guy with a crooked nose looks a beauty of a nose. Just that it is in my case a little differently, and the crooked nose can not work off or hinder you that they will still slate - it stays that way. You can operate the nose and correct it. The scoliosis can worsen if you do not mind. You can also operate your spine , but only in very bad cases, and causes widespread damage in growth, as far as I know.

But someday this nightmare is over. Unfortunately, it takes a couple of years, unless a miracle happens. I believe in miracles. And the fact that I pull out of the ditch of despair, albeit with help. I do not care what others think of you.
What matters is how you deal with the situation and make the best of it.
And everyone has made its way manage to even if it takes much time to do so.

Schrodt or Schrott?

A few days ago I drove with my father to my new physiotherapy.
Determined are you so surprised that he so often occur as opposed to my mother, but even if she do not come along wherever I go, she is a great support for me!
In the car I looked again at the recipe, which I should identify myself there. At the bottom of the paper was written "Physiotherapyafter Schrott." I had to laugh, because I should do physical therapy after Catherine Schrodt, a special treatment for scoliosis, and in English means Schrott "scrap".
Well, the doctors are all very professional and all, but when it comes time to fill out a paper properly, make them tired. ;)
Physical therapy was very close to us, we did not have it so far. It was my first time with my corset outside the house, if only for a short time.

So we looked at the doorbell for the name that was on our list which had printed out the people in the hospital. There was physical therapy, but it was not wearing the name we were looking for. So we just went in and asked for. The secretary came to register, she was eating a chocolate bar and made a strange face when my father told her the name of the therapist on our list. She said only that there would not be here, but then the woman said that this therapist had worked here 10 years ago. There we're back to the old theme: fill out documents. -.-

Well, but apparently we were right and we should take a couple of chairs under an arch over a door that was painted like a rainbow. The painting reminded me of a poem that I should memorize times in second grade. It described the rainbow and its colors (red, orange, yellow, green and blue ...). Since I had sorted my pens always looking for the rainbow colors ...
My father pointed to a small blue shift car, in which one you can put your toys.I had one in red , but I've never been able to drive it around the corner. So I had thrown myself on the floor and drummed with my fist on the floor because I was so frustrated. Temper tantrums are not typical for me, but at some point, everyone gets let out his anger, right? ;)

Lastly my therapist came to the fore, asked us to remove our shoes and follow her. I could put out my corset (: D) and she showed me exercises and a good postureShe had comfortable cool hands with which she corrected me or demonstrated things. She also gave me papers on which was my first practice with text and illustrated graphically.

Honestly, I think physical therapy not so bad as I had imagined at the beginning. :D

In the hospital - with corset

My corset from the front
When I came on 5 July 2011 for the fitting and familiarization of the corset  into the hospital, I knew that it would begin a new chapter of my life.
I shared a room with two other patients (in the beginning there were more, but most already left the hospital when I came). A girl (11) had had an operation, and another, called L * (9) also had a corset, but another than mine. L and I were like good friends, despite the age difference (our first conversation was the fact that we confused our therapists: I was with hers and my therapist was looking for me all the time).
Because we had arrived on the same day in the hospital, we did everything together every day and complained of how severely the corset hurts.

That was the plan given to us in our hospital:

Tuesday:
2 hours wear corsets, 1 hour break, etc.

Wednesday:

4 hours wear corsets, 1 hour break, etc.

Thursday:

5 hours corset wear, etc. 1 hour break and enter at night!

Friday: Corset 23 hours wear corsets, an hour break in the day, whenever you like

Saturday:

Hooray, after the physical therapy you may go home today!

I experienced quite a lot in the hospital, got to know very nice people - but also very painful moments. My corset was often corrected, but when I should wear it at night, there was still a pretty bad dent, with which one could not sleep well. So I lay awake until half past three clock in the morning in bed, totally desperate, because if I had not worn that night, I would still have to stay another night to Saturday. So I struggled internally with me, what should I do now, while L slumbered peacefully. We both had agreed that if someone can not sleep, we wake each other, then I've done it. After much give tips I've finally put the corset loosely and then I fell asleep anyway.

My corset from behind
Note to the pictures of my corset:
Where the holes are, must be my spine. They are there not for the arms!

What stands out above so comes under my left shoulder. And then there are still the buckles, which are tightening the corset.
